It is with sadness that the passing of Carlene Maxwell of Dahlonega, Georgia is shared. Carlene, born on April 6, 1949, passed away on October 14, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Carlene will be remembered for the time spent with loved ones and the moments that brought joy to those around her. Friends and family will honor Carlene by reflecting on shared memories and the positive influence she had in their lives. Though Carlene is no longer present, the bonds she created and the experiences shared will endure. Carlene’s memory will continue to be a source of comfort for all who knew her.
She was predeceased by: her mother Willie Mae Townley (Coy Odom); and her brothers, Dean Townley and William Townley. She is survived by: her son Michael; her daughter-in-law Julie Benna of Gainesville; her grandchildren, Amber Manley (Michael) of Dahlonega, Hannah Akins (Aj) of Adel, Brooke Benna of Gainesville and Zac Benna of Gainesville; her siblings, Gene Townley (Lee) of Ellenwood and Cathy Cain (TJ) of Dahlonega; and her close friends, Joan and Joyce. She is also survived by 9 great grand children.
A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, October 29th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Anderson Underwood Funeral Home (2068 US-19, Dahlonega, GA 30533).
