It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joan Helms of Dahlonega, Georgia, born in Ozark, Alabama, who passed away on August 5, 2022, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her father Clyde William; and her husband Sam Helms. She is survived by: her children, John Gaston, Jr. (Virginia), Jeffrey Gaston (Karen) of Loachapoka, AL, Jill Gaston (Gerard Findji), Carqueiranne, France and Joe Gaston (Ingrid) of Adamsville, AL; her granddaughter Barbara Zeller (Ashton) of Meridian, MS; her children, William Gaston of Athens, GA, Charlotte Miller (Justin) of Marietta, GA and Rachel Gaston of Atlanta, GA; her great grandchildren, Lyra Zeller and Thomas Zeller of Meridian, MS; and her sisters, Jeri Carter of Panama City, FL and Cathy Fancher of Dothan, AL. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
