He was predeceased by: his son Keith Sapp; his parents, James Wiley and Allie Mae Sapp; and his brother James Sapp. He is survived by: his wife Gynette Sapp of Daisy; his children, Patrick Sapp (Melissa McDaniel) of Daisy and Melissa Gutierrez (Job) of Daisy; and his siblings, Brookie Sapp (Debbie) of Claxton, JW Sapp (Anna Dean) of Brunswick, Johnny Sapp of Claxton and Ruby Joyner of Bulloch County. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, along with several nieces and nephews.
