He was predeceased by : his parents, Albert Tillman Sumler and Retha Evelyn Cox Sumler; and his sisters, Sally Darlene Burrous (Howard Burrous) and Iris Scoggins. He is survived by : his brother Albert Boyd Sumler; his wife Sue Walker Sumler; his daughters, Jenny Lawson (Ron Lawson) and Robin Freeman (Jack Freeman); his grandchildren, Erin Sinard, Anna Lawson, Christian Berry, Sara Lawson, Tyler Berry and Peyton Berry; his great grandchild Emma Sinard; his nephew Luke Burrous; and his sister-in-law Tobie (Clarice Sumler).
