She was predeceased by: her parents, George Grover and Melba Mathis Johnson; and her brother William Johnson (Sonny). She is survived by: her husband Jerry D. Shelton; her children, Beth Meyers and James Shelton; her grandchildren, Katherine Waddell, Blake Farr and Gage Meyers; her siblings, Kay Belcher and George Johnson, III; her nieces, Pamela Call (Billy) and Audrey Kendall (Ryan); and her great-nieces and great-nephews, Lexi Kendall of Dallas, Ella Kendall of Dallas, Evan Call of Dallas, Lee Kendall of Dallas and Kaylyn Call of Dallas.
Visitation was held on Friday, July 18th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Benson Funeral Home, Inc. (309 Hardee St, Dallas, GA 30132). A funeral service was held on Friday, July 18th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Childrens' Sunday School Department at First Baptist Church of Dallas.
