He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Lamar May, Sr. and Eva Pearl Jones; his son Derek; and his brother-in-law Jim Russell. He is survived by: his wife Judy; his children, Cindy Salyers (Steve) of Dallas and David Hayes (Sue) of Orlando, FL; his sister Lorraine Russell of Montgomery, AL; and his grandsons, Evan Hayes, Dylan May and Ethan May. He is also survived by cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made in Lamar's memory to West Metro Church of Christ, or the charity of your choice.
