We announce the death of Alice McDaris Sloan (Dalton, Georgia), who passed away on June 25, 2026, at the age of 84. Alice will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her parents, James Oscar McDaris and Nora Carroll McDaris; her siblings, Bobby McDaris, Clyde McDaris and Lois Ezell; and her grandson David Souther.
She is survived by: her husband William Glenn Sloan; her daughters, Rhonda Sloan Souther (Mark) of Dalton and Donna Sloan Pound (Steve) of Savannah, Georgia.; her grandchildren, George Jason Souther (Molly), William Jess Souther (Amanda), Preston Thomas Pound (Elizabeth), Riley Alice Pound Akridge (Konnor) and Amelia Sloan Pound; her great grandchildren, Finley George Souther, Nora Lorraine Souther and Annie Jones Souther; her sister Joan; her siblings-in-law, Carlie Ponder, Marlyne Lindsey (JE) and Wayne Sloan (Dot); and her friends, Nancy and Bobby Howell. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
As Mrs. Sloan loved flowers almost as much as she enjoyed sweets, flowers will be accepted, or donations may be made to First United Methodist Church Christian Learning Center.
