She was predeceased by: her parents, James William Blalock and Betty Sue Smith Blalock. She is survived by: her son Matt Hightower (Sharon); her grandsons, Andrew Hightower and Austin Hightower (Sydney); her sister Judy Blalock; and her sibling's children, Mia Ware (Mike), Mandy Blankenship (Daniel) and Rusty Lount (Stacey).
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Barbara's memory to Lighthouse Family Worship Center in Dalton, Georgia.
