He was predeceased by : his parents, Carl B. Powell, Sr. and Janie Murray Powell. He is survived by : his brother Hugh of Dalton; his niece Valerie Brown of Dalton; his stepdaughter Sandra Fitzgerald (Mike) of St. Simons; and his grandchildren, Jesse (Lorelei) and Elizabeth Fitzgerald. He is also survived by eight nieces and nephews.
