It is with great sadness that we announce the death of George Harrison Blackwell of Dalton, Georgia, who passed away on October 4, 2025, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Though George may no longer walk beside us, his memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those George touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In his absence, his spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
He was predeceased by: his wife Margaret Townsend Blackwell; and his siblings, Johnny Blackwell, Frank Blackwell Jr., James Blackwell, Eugene Blackwell, Edward Blackwell, Ray Blackwell, Robert "Bobby" Blackwell, Albert Blackwell and Minnie Lee Farmer.
He is survived by: his sister Lois Farmer (Sherman); and his friend Nancy Gaston (Lynn).
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 7th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Dalton Funeral Home (620 S Glenwood Ave, Dalton, GA 30721). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 7th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Chapel of Dalton Funeral Home (620 S Glenwood Ave, Dalton, GA 30721).
