He was predeceased by: his parents, Gilbert Chastain and Ruby Brickley Chastain; his wife Betty Jean Chance Chastain of Dalton, GA; and his siblings, Bobby Chastain, Luther Chastain, John Chastain, Arvil Chastain, Dottie Gowen, Exie Mann and Mildred Baggett.
He is survived by: his sons, Lamar (Debbie Chastain) and Chris (Lisa Chastain); and his grandchildren, Renea, Connie Caldwell, Alan Chastain, Brandi Chastain, Christopher, Leighann Chastain, Jennifer Chastain, Kimberly Chastain, Michelle, Austin Williams and Tiffany Patterson. He is also survived by several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
