She was predeceased by: her parents, Lige Poteet and Nellie McGaha Poteet of Dalton; and her brother Ernest Poteet of Dalton. She is survived by: her children, Michael W. Metcalf (Susan) of Fort Payne, AL and Michelle L. Metcalf of Cartersville, GA; her grandchildren, Owsley Cheek III (Emily) of Madison, AL, Lindsay Cheek (Joel) of Lake Tahoe, CA and Matthew Cheek of Gardnerville, NV; and her great grandchildren, Owsley Cheek IV, Bayley Cheek, Sage O'Connor and Maddie Cheek. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
