He was predeceased by: his parents, Huston Palmer and Carolyn Stancell Palmer; his son David Palmer; his grandchildren, Ansley Palmer and Tyler Palmer; his siblings, Bobby Palmer, Marilyn Palmer, Jimmie Sweat, Phyllis Padgett, Becky Schilling and Kim Blackmon; and the mother of his children Ann Palmer.
He is survived by: his wife Peggy Gulledge Palmer; his children, Ricky Palmer (LeAnne), Scott Palmer (Jennifer), Rox Ann Palmer (Benny Humpherys) and Wendy Wofford; his stepdaughters, Jeletta Pinion (Kenny) and Tressia Arnold (David); and his siblings, Mike Palmer (Susan), Patsy Elsberry, Martha Reynolds (Duck), Linda Orr (Raymond), Kathy Brown (Bucky) and Marsha Uptain. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Visitation will be held on Monday, May 18th 2026 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Mason Funeral Home (320 GA-48, Summerville, GA 30747). A funeral service will be held on Monday, May 18th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
