He is survived by: his wife Diane Smitherman; his children, Jimmy Wilson (Veronica), Shellie Smitherman Horvath (Steve), Jasen Johnston, Chris Smitherman and Dion Johnston (Sarah); his grandchildren, Kassie Smith, Kayla Smith, Keylon Smith, Chase Schara, Justice Schara, Stephen Burgess, Maddox Johnston, Audrie Johnston and Nash Johnston; his great grandchildren, Xander Hale, Cameron Hale and Mason Schara; and his siblings, Bill Smitherman, Lee Smitherman (Marcella), Wilma Pangle (David), Beverly Jarrett (Norman), Charlotte Hickman and Faye Sharpe. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
