He was predeceased by: his parents, Teodulo Sarmiento and Rosario Sarmiento; and his brother Carlos Raul Sarmiento. He is survived by: his wife Maria Garcia; his children, Jose A. Sarmiento (Yuriel Rodriguez), Omar Sarmiento (Lily Ordonez), Nancy (Isidro Trejo), Farrah Sarmiento (Shawn Smithey) and Cecilia (Jose); his siblings, Maria Elia Sarmiento Cisneros (Jorge Sanchez), Ana Maria Sarmiento Cisneros, Antonio Sarmiento Cisneros (Maria Ayala) and Guillermo Sarmiento Cisneros (Laura Guereca); his grandchildren, Perla Trejo, Alan Trejo, Karyme Smithey, Kohen Smithey, Natalie Quintero, Briana Sarmiento, Bryson Sarmiento, Austin Rodriguez, Jose M. Garcia, Valeria Garcia, Valentina Garcia and Kane Sarmiento; and his extended family, Jose G. Hurtado, Leonor Roldan, Rodolfo, Maribel Garcia, Esteban and Diana Flores. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and in-laws.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 14th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Julian Peeples Funeral Home (2801 Cleveland Hwy, Dalton, GA 30721). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 15th 2025 at 11:00 AM and at 1:00 PM.
