He was predeceased by: his parents, John Edward Brown and Bertha Haddock Brown; his brother Kenneth Brown; his parents-in-law, John and Verl King Hambright; his brothers-in-law, John Williams, John Sofios and Ron Davis; and his nephews, Kenny and Tony Brown.

He is survived by: his wife Sylvia Brown; his children, Adam Edward Brown of Marietta, GA and Kari Brown Sostrom (Greg) of Murfreesboro, TN; his sister Janis Davis of Ludowici, GA.; his grandchildren, Tyler Sostrom (Lacey), Cody Sostrom (Shannon) and Jordan Sostrom; his sisters-in-law, Joyce Williams and Kay Sofios; his nieces and nephews, Robyn Wood, Scott Williams, Angela Myers, Tiffany Bowling and Nick Davis; his great grandchildren, Michaela Elaine Sostrom and Elexis Addisyn Ray; and his friends, Allen, Charlene Headrick, Robert McBee, Ken and Margaret Ogle.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Cohutta First Baptist Church.
