Opal Hagin Obituary
With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Opal Hagin of Dalton, Georgia, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Opal left this world on August 24, 2025 at the age of 83, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. She was predeceased by: her parents, Roy Kell Smith and Delia Mae Smith; her husband Donald Lee Hagin; and her siblings, Dwight "Snuffy" Smith, Roy Sie Smith and Faye Atkins.
She is survived by: her children, Jimmy Lee (Kimber Hagin), Jeff (Misty Hagin), Donna (Louis Long) and Melisa (Mark Gamlen); her siblings-in-law, George, Carolyn Hagin of Dalton and Carol Smith of Cohutta; and her grandchildren, Tiffany Penn, Brittany Carlock, Ashley Moody (Chastain), Michael Callahan (Charlee), Jeffery "Bubba" Hagin, Charity Opal Faith Gamlen, Katlyn Kittiphanh (Codie), Avery Crockett, Amy Martinez, Jammie Howard, Logan Norris-Jones (Kevin) and Darcy Norris. She is also survived by several great grandchildren; several uncles, nieces, and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 28th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Pleasant Grove Chapel of Julian Peeples Funeral Home (2801 Cleveland Hwy, Dalton, GA 30721).
Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Association.
