With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Roy S. Smith (Dalton, Georgia), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on June 26, 2025 at the age of 77. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy Kell Smith and Delia Mae Smith; his siblings, Faye Atkins and Dwight Smith; and his brother-in-law Donald Hagin.
He is survived by: his wife Carol Smith; his children, Dewayne (Melissa Smith), April (Troy Frantzen), Clarissa (Jeff Hamrick) and Randy Smith; his grandchildren, Jessica, Erek Beavers, Jeremy, Mikaylah Smith, Briana, Stephen Correll, Ashleigh, Bailey Jordan, Jacob Hamrick, Olivia Smith and Kara Grace Smith; his great grandchildren, Judah Beavers, Asher Smith, Nolan Smith, Olliver Correll, Wrenlee Beavers and Riley Jordan; and his sister Opal Hagin. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 29th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Pleasant Grove Chapel of Julian Peeples Funeral Home (2801 Cleveland Hwy, Dalton, GA 30721). A funeral service will be held on Monday, June 30th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Valley Brook Church of God (1474 Mineral Springs Rd, Dalton, GA 30720).
