She was predeceased by: her father Silas Austin, Sr.; her husband Alvin Barrett; her siblings, Rosa Lee Shanks, Katie L. Austin, Thelma Olean Taylor, Martha Nell Tibbs, Silas Jr., Lavern, Jerry and James Albert Austin; and her foster daughter Leslie Holmes.
She is survived by: her siblings, Gussie Johnson, Margaret Jackson (Tim) and Terry Austin; and her siblings-in-law, Dora Austin, Ethel Austin and Charles Dwight (Ann). She is also survived by nieces, nephews, a host of many cousins, other relatives, and friends.
