He is survived by : his mother Betty Jean Howard Moats; his wife Kathryn Shimko Moats; his sons, James Gregory Moats, Jr. and Steven Bradley Moats; his stepchildren, Daniel Jones, Chelsea Stuenkel and Taylor Stevens; and his brothers, Jeffery Wyne Moats and Jerry Moats. He is also survived by five grandchildren.
