He was predeceased by : his parents, Etta Blackburn and Cecil Edward Shelton; and his sister Twila Campbell. He is survived by : his wife Sherry Shelton; his sisters, Sally Mitchell (Gary) and Cindy Young; his children, Jessica Searcy (John), Alicia Spence (Jeremy), Clint Hill (Amber), Molly Hodges (Clayton) and Emily Hill (Jose); and his grandchildren, Sophia Searcy, Carson Searcy, Ellyana Spence, Parker Spence, Jamison Spence, Aria Hill and Addelyn Hill.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 4th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Lord & Stephens Funeral Homes (963 GA-98, Danielsville, GA 30633). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 4th 2024 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the same location.
