She was predeceased by: her parents, Glenn Riordan Hammond and Juanita Clara Kennedy Hammond; her husband Richard Talley Askew, Sr.; her grandmother Mildred Hammond; her siblings, Glenn Ellyn Powell, Robert K. Hammond and Johnny Hammond; and her son-in-law Ricky Smith.
She is survived by: her children, Dianne Askew Hilton (Doug) of Albany, Glenda Askew Smith of Dawson, Ricki Askew Milliron (Mark) of Dawson and Richard T. Askew, Jr. of Dawson; her siblings, Juanita Hammond Bridges (Don) of Dawson and Gerald Hammond (Linda) of Dawson; and her caregiver Ethel Williams. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, a great-great-grandchild.
