With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Lucy Harris (Dawson, Georgia), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on March 8, 2026 at the age of 92. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Mattie Brown and Joseph Hicks; her husband Warren Harris, Sr.; her children, John Arthur Hicks, James Harris, Warren Harris, Jr. and Lois Harris; her grandchildren, Michael Thornton, Latasha Lawson and Nicholas Daniels; and her siblings, Doris Brown and Lonnie C. Hicks.
She is survived by: her children, Janice Johnson (Dennis) of Hawesville, Linda Fay Johnson (Harold) of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Lonnie Harris (Brenda), Edward Harris, Curtis Harris (Kechanda) and Phillip Harris (Chevelle); her daughter-in-law Mertice Harris of Dawson, Georgia; her siblings-in-law, Mitchell Harris, John Shorter, Bessie Harris, Barbara Bavelle, Carol Brewster, Josephine Moon and Juliet Johnson; and her grandchildren, Gloria, Montravious, Nekebra, Gerald, Dennis Jr., Tanisha, Kavin, Kerah, Kelvin, Christopher, Curtis Jr., Eric, Nashawn, Demarcus, Chavon, Brian, Phydora, Rahshaan and Sherrine. She is also survived by 21 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
