It is with sadness that the passing of Philip O'Shields of Dawsonville, Georgia is shared. Philip, born on August 16, 1953 in Jasper, Georgia, passed away on October 4, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his stepfather George Slaton; and his grandparents, Clifford and Cleo Pendley. He is survived by: his wife Dell O'Shields; his mother Colleen Slaton; his siblings, Joe Hill and Carolyn Stowers (Reggie); and his siblings-in-law, Dianne Howell (Sammy), Dora Lee Ridings, Deborah Sue Goode (Bill), Catherine Hill, Teresa Fitts, Becky Bruce (Doug), Beverly Ridings, Richard Ridings, Roger Ridings (Debby) and Rice "Pee-Wee" Ridings (Debora). He is also survived by nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, extended family members, friends.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 6th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Wednesday, October 7th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 1:45 PM at the Bearden Funeral Home (334 Hwy 53, Dawsonville, GA 30534). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 7th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Bearden Funeral Home Chapel (334 Hwy 53, Dawsonville, GA 30534).
In lieu of flowers memorial donations are requested to Mica Baptist Church, 479 Roscoe Collette Rd., Dawsonville, GA 30534.
