She was predeceased by: her parents, Isaac Manns and Bernice Fikes Manns; and her brother Isaac Manns, Jr. of Birmingham, Alabama.. She is survived by: her son Jerome Bates Jr. (Schyuler); her husband Jerome Bates Sr.; her son Delton Bates (Sandra); her siblings, Alice Moore, Nancy Edmonds and Charlie Manns; her grandchildren, Delton Bates Jr. (Amber), Kendall Bates, Jordan Bates, Jaylen Bates, Kennedy Streeter and Sheridan Bates; and her great grandchildren, Ryleigh Bates and Dakari Bates. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, May 6th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the South DeKalb Chapel (4347 Flat Shoals Pkwy, Decatur, GA 30034). A celebration of life was held on Thursday, May 7th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Columbia Drive United Methodist Church (2067 Columbia Dr, Decatur, GA 30032).
