He was predeceased by: his parents, Johnnie Shields and Tweetie Mae Shields; his siblings, James, Harvey, Alma and Evelyn; and his daughters, Sonja, Pam and Lashawn.
He is survived by: his wife Gerri; his children, Debbie (John), Theresa (Henry) and Nicholas (Jennifer); his grandsons, Jonathan and Cameron; and his siblings, Johnnie (Willie Dean), Calvin, Bernie (Alice), Wallace (Deborah) and Minnie. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, extended family members, dear friends.
