He was predeceased by: his parents, Orville Ayers and Jean Ayers; his wife Winnie Sears; his son-in-law Lance Lanier; his grandson Timothy Lanier; and his sister Ann Tidwell.
He is survived by: his daughters, Diane Lanier of Norcross and Cindy Bates (Wayne) of Snellville; his grandsons, Robert Lanier (Ginger) of Lawrenceville and Nathan McKinney (Christina) of Auburn; his great grandchildren, Austin Lanier, Ethan Lanier and Lorelei Jade McKinney; and his siblings, Barbara Browning of Tucker and Steve Ayers of Buford.
