He is survived by: his wife Polly Harris Phillips; his stepson Corey Vandiver (Kahler) of Newborn; his sisters, Melba Courbat (Jerrod) of Tennille and Melissa Bainbridge of Sandersville; his grandchildren, Isabella Dennard, Zylan Corbin, Addison Vandiver, Kendall Vandiver and Blakely Vandiver; his siblings' children, Ashley Whitney and Devin Courbat; his great-niece Grayli Wood; his great-nephews, Tylan Whitney, Tanner Whitney and Tucker Whitney; his cousins, Lee and Eva Duncan; and his close friend C. G. Mandrell.
