She was predeceased by: her parents, Andrew Jackson and Stella King Palmer; her husband Rev. Alvin Lamar Oakes, Sr.; her son Alvin (Lamar Oakes, Jr.); and her siblings, Roger Palmer, Reed Palmer, Ken Palmer, Ross Palmer, Gerald Palmer, Glen Palmer, Ruth Palmer Sosebee and Kay Palmer Purdy.
She is survived by: her daughters, Angelyn Oakes Southers (Brad) and Elise Oakes Purdy (David); her grandchildren, Heather P. Jordan (Scott), Lana Elaine Green (Chris), Joseph Brian Hill (Lauren), Marie Hill Ellis (J. J.), Sarah Michelle Almand (Matt) and Jacob Steven Palmer (Renee); her great grandchildren, Lucy Hill, Libby Hill, Ashlyn Jordan, Lily Jane Green, Daisy Green, Audrey Palmer and Oakley Palmer; and her sister Carolyn Palmer Bailey. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
