Laura Ann McCown Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Laura Ann McCown of Demorest, Georgia, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on August 4, 2025 at the age of 81. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the vast expanse of eternity, Laura Ann shall find rest, cradled in the arms of everlasting peace. And as we bid Laura Ann farewell, her loved ones carry with them the precious gift of her memory, a beacon of hope guiding them through the shadows of sorrow towards the light of a new dawn.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Ollie Jack Cost and Frances Eileen Lonergan Cost; her husband Stanley Hyde McCown; and her sister Peggy Joyce Austin (William). She is survived by: her sisters, Jacueline Eileen Gothard (Fulton) of Elba, AL and Frances Susan Manning (Fred) of Columbiana, AL; and her siblings' children, Christopher Austin (Annie-Laurie) of Demorest, GA, Stephanie Helms (Bobby) of Chelsea, AL, Scott Manning (Shelley) of Alabama and Lori Holcomb (Donnie) of Elba, AL. She is also survived by several great nieces and nephews as well as several other great great nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 15th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 2:45 PM at the Hueytown First Methodist Church (110 Sunset Dr, Hueytown, AL 35023). A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 15th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Friday, August 15th 2025 at the Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church (1343 Hueytown Rd, Hueytown, AL 35023).
