He was predeceased by: his parents, Minor Marvin and Annie Pearl Nix Hunnicutt; and his siblings, Doris Smith, Lucy Bowden, Mandle Hunnicutt, Horace Hunnicutt, Clois Hunnicutt and Robert Hunnicutt.

He is survived by: his wife Gwinn Wilbanks Hunnicutt of Demorest; his sons, Clete (Leigh Hunnicutt) and Kip (Lisa Hunnicutt); his grandchildren, Mason Hunnicutt, Owen Hunnicutt, Emmy Lou Hunnicutt, Sunni Brett, Mary Kate Brett and Brown; and his sisters, Brenda Broome of Commerce and Lois Martin of Clarkesville.

Flowers will be accepted or memorial donations may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
