She was predeceased by: her parents, Emmett D. Smith and Annie Maude Williams Smith; her siblings, Nellie Smith Hobbs and Jimmy R. Smith; and her husband D. W. Knight, Jr. (Bill).
She is survived by: her son Hal Monroe (Tammy); her grandsons, Alex Monroe and Caleb Monroe (Taylor); and her great grandchildren, Mason, Easton and Carter Monroe.
She was an active community volunteer in the Heart of Georgia United Way, Dublin-Laurens St. Patrick's Festival, and served on the Board of Directors for The Lighthouse Adult Day Care Center for Alzheimer's patients.
