He was predeceased by: his parents, Andrew Mitchell and Vera Ruth Johnson Bass; and his sister Nell Shelton. He is survived by: his wife Mary Carver Bass of Worth County; his children, Joe Bass Jr. of Worth County and Samantha Fowler (Robert) of Braselton; his grandchildren, Callie Fowler, Ruthie Fowler and Mitchell Bass; and his brothers, Wayman Bass, Scottie Bass and Hayward Bass.
