He was predeceased by: his parents, Clinton Harrell and Grace Adams Harrell; and his daughter Brandi Marie Harrell. He is survived by: his wife Carla Jean Ayers Harrell of Douglas, GA; his daughter Julia Ann Harrell Thomas of Douglas, GA; his grandsons, Lawton Thomas (Anna) of Douglas, GA and Paul Thomas (Brenna) of Douglas, GA; and his sister Debra Harrell of Douglas, GA.. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
