He is survived by: his wife Mary Kaye Herring of Douglas, Georgia; his children, Anne Gay Tolentino of Pearson, George David "Davy" Ellis, Jr. of Bushnell, Lavada E. Copeland (Shawn) of Douglas, John Bradley "Brad" Ellis of Bushnell, Jeffrey "Jeff" D. Ellis of Douglas, Johnny F. Ellis (April) of Ambrose, Mark Anthony Ellis of Nicholls and Donny Ellis of Douglas; his grandchildren, Cody (Jessica), Hannah, Jamie, Kaylee (Matt), Mallorie (Ethan) and Antyler; and his siblings, Wayne Ellis of Lenox, Georgia, Maxine E. Griner (Raymond) of Nashville and Pam E. Perry of Douglas, Georgia. He is also survived by 8 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 8th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Ricketson Funeral Home Chapel (305 W Ward St, Douglas, GA 31533). A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, October 8th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
