He was predeceased by: his parents, George Sears of Washington and Alice Estelle Davis Sears; and his sister Dessie Mae Meeks (Sears). He is survived by: his wife Jeannine Brice Sears of Douglas, GA; his children, George W. Sears, Jr. (Tina) of Savannah, GA, Carol S. Sawyer (Tim) of Douglas, GA and Karen S. Peele (Jerry) of Eastman, GA; his grandchildren, Elizabeth Jeannine "Beth" Sears Hall (Norm), George Wendell "Bucky" Sears, III (Laura), Andrew Garrette Sawyer (Kathryn), Annalyn Peele Tocci (Jim), Jennie Sawyer Murphy (Bradley), Mark Aaron Sawyer, Kristen Peele Jones (Jordan) and Kellie Peele Moore (Daniel); his great grandchildren, Madeline Christine Sears, Samuel Edward Sears, Jonathan Garrett Sawyer, David Patrick Sawyer, Annabella Rose Tocci, Lydia Ruth Jones, Baby Boy Murphy and Baby Girl Moore; and his nieces, Rue Meeks Player and Linda Meeks Abbott (Harold).
