He was predeceased by: his parents, Isom Jewell and Oneda Phillips Jewell; his son Brandon Jake Jewell; and his siblings, Merrill Jewell, Harvey Jewell, Gerald Jewell, Barbara Knight, Bernice Crosby and Doris Mizell.
He is survived by: his wife Darlene Hadsock Jewell of Douglas, Georgia; his son Richard Shannon Jewell of Douglas, Georgia; his grandson Richard Blake Jewell of Douglas, Georgia; his great grandchild Paislee Jewell of Douglas, Georgia; and his sisters, Shirley Meeler of Douglas, Donna Paulk of Alma and Judy Lott of Douglas, Georgia. He is also survived by nieces, nephews.
