It is with great sadness that we announce the death of JoAnn Womble Carter of Douglas, Georgia, born in Waycross, Georgia, who passed away on March 25, 2022, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her father Charlie Brown Womble (C. B.); her husband Nathaniel Ashley Carter (Nat); and her sister Barbara Sue Greenfield. She is survived by: her children, Thad Carter (Charlene) of Douglas and Penny Carter Rivera (Tony) of Rockledge, FL; her grandchildren, Nathan Carter of Nashville, TN and Isabella Rivera of Tallahassee, FL; her siblings, Paula Lancaster of Conyers, GA and Rev. J. W. Womble (Doris) of Waycross; and her friend Ada Harper (Stacy) of Douglas.
