He was predeceased by: his parents, Asa Strickland and Leone Williams Strickland; his siblings, Asa Strickland, Donald Strickland, Lester Strickland, Dovie Strickland and Joyce Price; and his grandson Garrett McVeigh.

He is survived by: his wife Linda Corbitt Strickland of Douglas, GA; his children, Roy Strickland, Dovie Hart (Ed) and Lovie McVeigh of Yulee, FL; his stepsons, Rick McCoy and Jason McCoy; his sisters, Josephine Cannon of Inverness, FL, Norine Gilstrap of Inverness, FL and Arena Thompson of Inverness, FL; his grandchildren, Tyler Reese, Christopher Reese, Hunter Reese and Colt; his stepgrandchildren, Charity McCoy, Rylee McCoy and Paris McCoy; and his great grandchildren, Kaiden McVeigh, Bella Grace, Huntley Reese and Gianna Callejas. He is also survived by Several Nieces, Nephews, Cousins.
