It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Marie Sears Mathews of Douglas, Georgia, who passed away on December 11, 2023, at the age of 69, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Roger Hugh Sears and Oda Carver Sears; and her brothers, Calvin Sears, Michael Sears and Alan Sears.

She is survived by: her husband Charles E. Mathews of Douglas, Georgia; her children, Jennifer Peacock (Henry) of Douglas and Randal Mathews (Denise) of Douglas, Georgia; her grandchildren, Rose, Gracie, Williamina, Daniel, Marah and Skylar Woesner; and her great grandchild Allison Merritt. She is also survived by Several nieces, nephews, and many friends.
