He was predeceased by: his mother Paulina Rangel Cortez. He is survived by: his wife Kathy Peacock Cortez of Douglas, Georgia; his children, Esmerdra Cortez of Tuscaloosa, Humbeto Cortez of Gresco, Regina Cortez of Gresco, Billy Ray Swift (Amanda) of Martin, Melissa Smith (Cody) of Martin and Amy Swift of Douglas, Georgia; and his siblings, Jimmy Cortez of Santa Anna, California, Martha Cortez of Gresco, Mexico, Gloria Cortez of Gresco, Mexico and Carolina Coretz of Gresco, Mexico. He is also survived by twenty grandchildren.
