She is survived by: her children, Kenneth Sims, Stephen Sims, Cory Sims and Yvonne Garner; and her grandchildren, Stephanie Shaw, Ryan Sims, Lindsey Sims, Brad Sims, Zachary Sims and Molly Sims.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, October 9th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the Rosehaven Funeral Home (8640 Rose Ave, Douglasville, GA 30134).
In lieu of flowers, the family asked that you donate to the Douglas County Humane Society in honor of Joy's love for animals.
