He was predeceased by: his parents, George Harper of Washington and Maxine Beulah Fulghum Harper. He is survived by: his son Matt Harper; his grandchildren, Grant Harper and Addison Grace Harper; and his siblings, Juanita Clay and Tommy Harper. He is also survived by many nephews and nieces.
