It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Marilynn Thornton Coats of Douglasville, Georgia, who passed away on April 17, 2025, at the age of 95, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Emil Thornton and Eula Beane Thornton; her husband Jack Coats; her sons, Larry Coats and Doug Coats; her granddaughters, Vicki Rudeseal and Lisa Powell; and her children-in-law, Leonard "Snake" Woodham and Patricia Coats (Peaches).
She is survived by: her children, Jackie Woodham, Donna Kimmons (John) and Bill Coats (Michele); her grandchildren, Mark Haunson (Stacy), Chad Coats, Christi Coats, Julie Robbins (Ashley), Allison McCumber (Bennett), Susan Gorman (Justin), Jennifer Coats-Grimes and Shirl Morris; her great grandchildren, Lauren, Ashley, Ashlyn, Emily, Brad, Bryce, Harper, Kendall, Jay, Bree, Zachary, Cora, Lucas, Hayden, Zach and Chad; and her great great grandchildren, Natalie, Sofia and Annie.
In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes and appreciates memorial contributions in her name to the general fund of Central Baptist Church in Douglasville, Georgia.
