He was predeceased by: his son Jerry Kip Bowen; and his sisters, Joan and Carla Jean Bowen. He is survived by: his wife Hazel Wennell Bowen; his children, Keith Bowen (Vicky) of Bristol, GA, Kerry Bowen (Ursula) of Dublin, GA and Kim Bowen of Cochran, GA; his brother Jerry Bowen (Bonnie) of Baton Rouge, LA; his grandchildren, Crystal Bailey (Bill), Jamie Brown (Mikey), Julie Scott (Richard), Samantha Schuldt (Zac), Sunny Jarrard, Mickey Jarrard (Rachael), Emily Davis (Nick) and Meri Hanah Bowen; and his great grandchildren, Olivia Bailey Flanders (Ty), Luke Bailey, Makaylee, Matthew, Tyson Brown, Perry Scott, Natalee, Rooker, Waylon, Lettee June Schuldt, Madilyn, Jack, Olivia Jarrard, Elliana Davis, Mason and Hazel Juliette Monroe.
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 28th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Townsend Brothers Funeral Home (215 W Jackson St, Dublin, GA 31021). A memorial service will be held on Monday, July 28th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the Mary Whitaker Townsend Memorial Chapel (215 W Jackson St, Dublin, GA 31021).
Memorial contributions may be made in his honor to Grace Baptist Church, 649 Gordon Edwards Road, Dublin, GA 31021.
