He was predeceased by: his parents, Gartrell Alford and Ethel Alford; his wife MaeJean Maddox; his children, Steve and Kathi; and his brothers, Russell and Talmadge.
He is survived by: his granddaughters, Melissa Hayes Johnson (Mark) of Grovetown, Lauren Ashley (Josh) and Eason; and his sisters, Trellie Mullis, Dean Coy and Ann Fennell (Dublin). He is also survived by several great-grandchildren.
