He was predeceased by: his parents, Charlie Smith and Ida Mae Jessup Smith; his siblings, Kelly Smith, Thomas Smith, Alzana and Earlene Smith; and his daughter Janice Pendergrass.
He is survived by: his wife Ollie "Penny" Stuckey Smith; his children, Gurvis Smith (Sharon) of Greenwillow, Ohio, Bryant Smith (Lori) of Streamwood, Illinois, Tyrone Smith (Kelli) of Flint, Yvettia Smith of Southfield and Delesk Pendergrass of Dublin, Georgia; his brother John Robert Smith of Westfield; and his sisters-in-law, Ola Cummings of Flint and Dorothy Pearson of Dublin, Georgia. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
