She was predeceased by: her parents, Henry Kersey and Annie Davis Kersey; her husband Melvin Ray Bowen; her sisters, Elenor Thomason (Ed) and Iris Dixon (Ethan); and her siblings-in-law, Sylvia Kersey and Dale Campbell.
She is survived by: her children, Joann Starley (Wayne), Steve Bowen (Wanda) and Melba Whittington (Phil); her siblings, Edward "Bud" Kersey and Susie Campbell; and her grandchildren, Brooke Dowling (Chris), Daniel Knight (Jodi), Vanessa Smith (Stephen), Jacob Whittington (Kelli), Jessica Williams (Jamie), Blaine Oxford (Dana) and Kenya Oxford. She is also survived by several great grandchildren, great-greatgrandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
