He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert E. Howard and Pauline Shepard Howard; his wife Mary Alice Howard; and his brothers, Thomas C. Howard and Randolph Howard.
He is survived by: his daughter Alicia Howell (Chris) of Dublin; his granddaughter Krystle McCranie (Matt) of Dublin; his great grandchildren, Kinsley McCranie and Ridge McCranie of Dublin; and his sister Lynda Adams (Wendell) of Dublin.
