He was predeceased by: his parents, Wade Charles Holliman and Eva Mae Maddox; his grandmother Vera Wright O'Neal; his mother-in-law Willie Dell O'Neal; his former wife Bobbie Jean Young Maddox; his daughters, Pamela R. Maddox, Lisa L. Maddox and Cassandra R. Rozier; and his grandson Monterio Maddox.

He is survived by: his sons, Reverend Timothy Maddox of Dublin, Herbert Maddox (Lakeisha) of Dublin, Johnny Blackshear of Dublin and Drawaski J. O'Neal of Houston, Texas; his aunt Helen Coney of Dublin, Georgia; and his sisters-in-law, Azzie Rhodes (Daryl), Glenda Foster and Gayla Marshall. He is also survived by twenty-six grandchildren, twenty-eight great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
